Eknath Shinde vows to ‘finish Lawrence Bishnoi’ after meeting actor Salman Khan

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Tuesday, assuring him of enhanced safety and protection following a shooting incident outside Khan’s Bandra residence in Mumbai. Two men on a motorbike fired multiple rounds near Galaxy Apartments early Sunday morning, hitting a wall and the gallery of Khan’s residence. The Maharashtra government, led by Shinde, has taken a strong stance against gang violence in the city.

Shinde’s Assurance of Safety

After meeting Salman Khan, CM Shinde emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the actor’s safety and pledged to take stern action against those involved in the shooting. “I have assured Salman Khan that the government stands behind him and his safety is the government’s responsibility,” he stated. Shinde added that the Mumbai Police has been instructed to enhance security measures for Khan and his family.

Strong Stance Against Gang Violence

In a firm statement to reporters, CM Shinde vowed to combat the influence of gangsters in the state, particularly targeting the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. “There is no gang (war) in Mumbai. The Underworld has no (place) in Mumbai. This is Maharashtra, this is Mumbai. We will finish this (Lawrence) Bishnoi (gang) so that no one dares to do such a thing,” Shinde declared.

Arrests and Investigation

Following the firing incident, the Mumbai Police arrested two suspects, Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21), from Mata No Madh village in Gujarat’s Kutch district. The suspects were brought to Mumbai and presented before a magistrate on Tuesday. Police are investigating the incident and are determined to uncover the truth behind the attack. “Strict action will be taken against them,” Shinde affirmed.

Gangster’s Warning and the Incident

After the shooting, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol claimed responsibility for the attack via a social media post, warning Salman Khan that this was just the “trailer.” The incident has raised concerns about the safety of the actor and his family.

CM Shinde’s strong stance and the swift action taken by the Mumbai Police highlight the state’s determination to tackle gang violence and ensure the safety of its citizens, including high-profile individuals such as Salman Khan. The situation remains under investigation, and further updates are expected as authorities work to resolve the case and bring those responsible to justice.
