The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the 16-member India Under-19 squad set to tour England from June 24 to July 23, 2025. This comprehensive tour includes a 50-over warm-up match, a five-match Youth One-Day series, and two multi-day matches against the England Under-19 team.
Leadership and Key Selections
Seventeen-year-old Mumbai opener Ayush Mhatre has been appointed as the captain of the squad. Mhatre recently made headlines with his performances for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2025, where he scored 206 runs in six matches at an average of 34.33, including a top score of 94.
Joining him is 14-year-old batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has been included in the squad following his remarkable debut season with the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. Suryavanshi amassed 252 runs in seven matches at a striking rate of 206.56, including a record-breaking 101 off 38 balls against the Gujarat Titans, making him the youngest player to score a century in IPL history.
Abhigyan Kundu has been named vice-captain and will also serve as one of the wicket-keepers in the squad.
